Die Design

Toolmasters in-house die design and years of experience allow us to build affordable high quality tooling.

Die design organizes components of different shapes, sizes, and composition into one unified concept. Competent, in-house die design can be a critical component of sound tool engineering and production.
A die is designed and built for one of two reasons: it may be either an entire press tool or it may be a component that is machined to receive a blank. The well-designed blueprint keeps waste at a minimum and prolongs tool life by ensuring the right materials and techniques are used in producing the die.

Starting with an original drawing, our die designer works to create a blueprint, a positive print that contains all of the part specifications. The blueprint contains all of the required views, dimensions, and notes that our die makers need to machine componants, assemble those componants, and perform all operations necessary to produce your completed die.

Keeping die design in-house gives Toolmasters an extra edge. As well as the talent and experience our die designer brings to Toolmasters, our in-house die design provides our die makers with ready answers to any questions encountered in producing your die. In-house die design increases efficiency by helping to eliminate waste-causing errors and shortening lead times, which results in decreased costs for our customers.
